This route has averaged $780 since I started tracking flights, so this is an incredible value. I did a little digging on this one and was able to find a flight to Prague that includes a 2-night stopover in Iceland for $532! I’m going to pass along a lot of the details on this destination, but if you want the links and the details on the 2-night stopover you’ll have to upgrade to a paid subscription.
Here are some reasons to visit Prague:
Historical Architecture
Prague is often referred to as the "City of a Hundred Spires" due to its beautiful and well-preserved historical architecture. The city's skyline is dominated by Gothic and Baroque buildings, including the iconic Prague Castle, Charles Bridge, and the Astronomical Clock in the Old Town Square.
Rich History
Prague has a long and fascinating history dating back over a thousand years. You can immerse yourself in the city's history by visiting museums, historical sites, and learning about key moments in European history that took place here, such as the Velvet Revolution in 1989. The Prague Castle, the largest ancient castle complex in the world, is a must-visit historical site.
Cultural Experiences
Prague is a hub for culture and the arts. You can enjoy classical music concerts in ornate concert halls, attend opera or ballet performances, and visit museums like the National Gallery or the Museum of Decorative Arts. The city also has a thriving contemporary art scene and numerous theaters showcasing both traditional and modern performances.
Charming Neighborhoods
Prague is divided into various neighborhoods, each with its own unique charm. The Old Town (Staré Město), Lesser Town (Malá Strana), and the Jewish Quarter (Josefov) are particularly picturesque and offer a glimpse into Prague's medieval past. Wandering through these neighborhoods, you'll find narrow cobblestone streets, quaint cafes, and boutique shops.
Delicious Czech Cuisine
Czech cuisine is hearty and flavorful, featuring dishes like goulash, trdelník (a sweet pastry), and traditional pork or duck with dumplings. Prague's restaurants offer a wide range of dining experiences, from traditional Czech pubs to fine dining establishments. Be sure to pair your meal with a glass of Czech beer, as the country is renowned for its beer culture.
