Direct flights from Grand Rapids (GRR) to Jacksonville (JAX) are available starting at just $86 roundtrip for weekend travel to close out the summer and throughout the fall.
This is the new Allegiant route that I first announced back in November 2024 (link here), and the last time I posted fares for this route was back in March 2025.
Jacksonville makes for an outstanding long weekend. You’ll have miles of Atlantic beaches, a growing food and brewery scene, waterfront parks, and one of the largest urban park systems in the country. From there, it’s an easy drive to historic St. Augustine, the nation’s oldest city, where you can wander brick streets, tour Castillo de San Marcos, and enjoy excellent seafood. Head north instead and you’ll find Amelia Island and Fernandina Beach, known for charming Victorian architecture, beautiful beaches, and a relaxed coastal atmosphere that’s perfect for a weekend escape.
Of course, Jacksonville also serves as a great gateway to Florida’s northeast coast, making it easy to mix beaches, history, golf, nature preserves, and great seafood into one trip.
