Tonight's the Night - Your Guide to Booking an Iconic National Park Hotel
It’s really not too early to start thinking about summer 2024 plans. If you want any chance at booking a hotel like the one shown below, you’ll have to read below for all the details. This is a time sensitive post so don’t procrastinate and wait until later this week!
I had a reminder pop up on my personal calendar that I thought I would share with you. This isn’t a flight deal, but it’s the inside scoop on how to book rooms at some of the most sought-after accommodations in Glacier National Park.
I love to travel and experience new places, but one place that I love and would revisit again and again is Glacier National Park. The trick is that to visit the park requires a decent amount of planning and preparation. One thing that helps is knowing the reservation policies and getting a room reserved that you can then plan a trip around.
For the hotels listed below you can make reservations up to 13 months in advance. On the first day of each month at midnight (mountain time), they begin accepting reservations for the entire month of the following year. For example, on August 1 (at midnight), they will accept reservations through August 31 of the following year.
Glacier National Park Hotel List
Lake McDonald - From $140/nt
Many Glacier Hotel - From $258/nt
Rising Sun Motor Inn & Cabins - From $231/nt
Swiftcurrent Motor Inn & Cabins - From $195/nt
Village Inn at Apgar - From $234/nt
Cedar Creek Lodge (Columbia Falls, MT) - From $264/nt
What does that mean for you?
If you want the best chance to book a room in Glacier National Park for next August, you’ll need to be online a 2am eastern time tonight, which is midnight mountain time. You might be able to get a room randomly at another time, but your best option for Many Glacier, Lake McDonald, and Swiftcurrent Motor Inn is to book right at midnight.

Camping reservations are available on a rolling 6-month basis so if you’re a camper you still have several months to figure it out. If you’re interested in the idea, but the timing doesn’t work for tonight or next August just put something on your calendar to remind yourself to book it at a later date.
Good Luck!
